It is a very practical and effective self-defense method without strength. It’s ideal to experience the spiritual understanding and the essence of bushido. Training includes traditional weapons such as jo (long staff), tanbo (baton), and bokken (wooden sword) as well as the sensu (silk fan). Training is done with a traditional concept. Includes iaido, jujitsu, and judo basics. Please arrive before 1.00 pm to start by 1.30 pm

Body Harmony – Selsdon Library

Body Harmony is a free-flowing program of movements for well-being and general fitness. It is a low-impact form that allows individuals to adapt the movements to suit their personal needs, even those with disabilities or physical ailments that would normally prevent them from participating. People meet to provide, advice, inform, educate, and share experiences. Library sessions, although very popular are no longer available but we do have regular sessions in Ashburton Hall. There is a small £2 charge to cover expenses but refreshments are free at the end…

Park training is open to both aikido and body harmony groups in an easy-going and friendly environment. Training is free and open to all and individuals can choose how and what they want to do. Some prefer to sit and watch or just meet socially. Training in an open-air environment is a unique experience and helps one to feel a connection to nature. However, when weather conditions are extreme we may have to adapt and/or even cancel but generally, more often we just carry on. Often we can train in the main Halls. No practice during severe weather conditions.
